The filling of the delicacy is a vaccine against rabies. To prevent a dangerous viral disease in animals living in the wild, 10,000 "cutlets" were laid out in the forests of the Sochi National Park.
- Wild animals are not caught for vaccination, so-called "cutlets" are laid out for them - fragrant briquettes made of meat and bone meal, in which there is a preventive dose of oral medication. This time we are laying out 10 thousand doses of Rabistav vaccine in the habitats of carnivores. This vaccine is in the form of a "cutlet", a capsule is enclosed inside it. The vaccine has an attractive smell for animals. Animals, swallowing the vaccine and biting the capsule, are "vaccinated" against carnivorous rabies on their own, – said Nadezhda Yudina, head of the anti-epizootic department of the State Budgetary Institution "Veterinary Administration of the City of Sochi".
Vaccination of animals with such "cutlets" in the Sochi National Park is carried out annually. This event is a necessary measure to prevent the outbreak of rabies and the spread of the virus on the territory of Sochi, from wild neighbors whose home is the forest, pets can also catch the virus, which means that people can also get infected with a deadly disease. Preventive measures are also carried out in the city.
