The inhabitants of the park in the mountains of Sochi are 20 alpacas. They were brought from special European nurseries where such animals are bred. As expected, for two months they were quarantined under the supervision of veterinarians and adapted to a new place of residence. Now everyone can chat with funny alpacas.
- The traditional habitat of alpacas is the Peruvian Andes. Therefore, they feel great at the Rosa Khutor mountain resort. After a careful selection of the site and consultations with the scientists of the Sochi National Park, a site with a stunning view of the surrounding peaks was determined for them. In accordance with all the requirements of the Rosselkhoznadzor, alpacas were settled in spacious open enclosures so that the animals feel absolutely free, - said Sergey Slabunov, the creator of the Pacha Mama alpaca park at the Rosa Khutor resort.
Alpacas are very fond of carrots. Crispy, thinly sliced orange vegetable slices are a real treat for them. It's just that you can't overeat it. Therefore, the daily norm of carrots for each alpaca in Pacha Mama Park is closely monitored by veterinarians.
- Apparently, alpacas liked it so much in Russia that during the quarantine one of the couples even decided to have a cub. So we are looking forward to replenishment soon. Alpacas are very sociable and inquisitive creatures, in their homeland of Peru they are considered pets. The real star of our park is the one-year-old male Uno. It is no coincidence that he bears a name that in Spanish means the First. He became the first alpaca cub born in the alpaca park in Voronezh. His mother abandoned him, people hand-fed him for several weeks. Therefore, Uno is always very happy with the guests, - Sergey Slabunov shared.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
