A new air carrier has appeared in Russia, focusing primarily on the transportation of tourists - Kamchatka Airlines. It is based at the Yelizovo airport in the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and will operate flights on domestic airlines, specializing in the delivery of tourists to popular natural sites in the region.
"The goal of the project is to increase the availability of air transportation within the region and expand the opportunities for visiting tourist sites for both local residents and guests of the region," the airline's press service said.
The fleet will consist of Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft. So far, the airline has one aircraft of this type, but within the next three to four years it is planned to expand it to 12 such aircraft. According to the general director of the company, Alexander Steblin, today helicopters are mainly used in Kamchatka, but this is generally a very expensive way to travel.
"We intend to provide a much more affordable price for flights within the region and develop sightseeing tourist routes to the volcanoes, reserves and other natural beauties of the region," Steblin said.
