The Ministry of Economic Development of Russia predicts an increase in tourist trips across the country to 84 million this year, of which about half will be for the summer period. Such data was provided by the head of the department Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting with the regions on preparations for the summer tourist season.
"In general, we forecast 42 million trips for the summer period. Of these, 2 million will travel to 18 destinations popular with tourists," the minister quotes interfax-russia.ru .
According to Reshetnikov, in 2023 the number of tourist trips in Russia increased to 78 million,
and by the end of this year, the domestic tourist flow is expected to grow by 8.6% to 84 million.
In addition, the minister said that in 2024 the regions will receive subsidies for 6.4 billion rubles for the development of tourism.
"The funds will be used, among other things, to prepare for the summer season: the development of routes, city centers, points of attraction, beaches," he said.
