The injured predator was rescued from the wild in December 2021. Now nothing threatens her life, but she still needs a special diet and constant veterinary control. Therefore, the tigress cannot be set free.

According to the press service of the Roscongress Foundation, the predator will be cared for at the Center for the Reproduction of Rare Animal Species of the Moscow Zoo. Now she is getting used to her new enclosure. While the tigress is behaving incredulously and aggressively, she is already showing interest in food. In early autumn, her treatment and subsequent rehabilitation will begin under the supervision of veterinarians. In the future, she will be able to take part in the breeding program and the creation of an artificial population of this rare species.

In December 2021, a fisherman from the Primorsky Territory found an injured tiger cub on the banks of the Cheremshana Spring of the Sinegorka River. The age of the tigress at that time was 4-5 months. Examination showed that on her lower jaw there was a complete death of muscle and skin tissues. Most likely, in the wild, the tiger cub was left without a mother. In search of food, the tigress could encounter a fox or a dog that bit through the soft tissues of her muzzle.

Doctors performed several operations to restore muscle tissue in the lower jaw. But because of the injuries, the tigress does not form a coat on the damaged area and the incisors do not grow correctly. If released into the taiga, the tigress will not be able to feed on hunted animals, since the unprotected area of the skin will be constantly injured, which will inevitably lead to suppuration in summer or frostbite in winter. Therefore, experts came to the decision not to release the predator to freedom, but to provide it with proper care and rehabilitation.
