The micro-reserve "Manskoye Zayishche" was created in June of this year in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in order to preserve rare and endangered, endemic, relict plant species with a "point" distribution pattern. This was reported on its website by the Association of Reserves and National Parks of the Altai-Sayan Ecoregion.
The new micro-reserve is located on the left bank of the Yenisei River, opposite the mouth of the Mana, on an area of more than 940 hectares.
"The area is characterized by high biodiversity: in total, 433 species of plants and fungi are registered here," the association noted.
According to experts, the main object of protection in the reserve is the local habitat of a rare, endemic and relic tree - the Nashchokin linden, which is found only in the vicinity of Krasnoyarsk.
There are also seven types of relics and 27 endemics in the natural area (including the Yenisei anemone, the noticeable ranunculus, the Zaenisei valerian, and the amazing violet).
According to the association, this is the fourth micro-reserve in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and 115th specially protected natural area of regional importance.
