A new Russian record for the resort fee was recorded in October this year in Kislovodsk, the official portal of the administration of the resort city reported.

“The Stavropol resort received 12.3 million rubles from vacationers. This is the maximum amount since the beginning of the “vacation tax” among all Russian resorts,”, Mayor Yevgeny MoiseevMoiseev said.

The resort fee in Kislovodsk help improve tourist facilities. Thus, Tyulenev and Ksenia Ge Square, Khodzhaev Street, the Rebrovsky pump-room on Lenin Avenue, etc. have already been ameliorated. Three more objects will be completed by the end of the year.

Last week, the Federation Council approved a law extending until the end of 2024 the duration of the experiment (conducted from 2018) on the collection of resort fees in the Crimea, Altai, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories. In addition, the document included St. Petersburg and the Sirius federal territory.

By the middle of next year, a bill is to be submitted to the parliament, which will enshrine the concept of "tourist tax" in the Tax Code. It is supposed to give the right to all regions to decide on the introduction of a fee, if they so desire. The size of the tourist tax will be determined by the parliament of a particular region.
