In the region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters, Rosprirodnadzor revealed 699 violations by mineral water extraction enterprises. Svetlana Radionova, head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Management (Rosprirodnadzor), announced this today during the "Open Dialogue" in the Federation Council.
She told the senators that as a result of unscheduled on-site inspections of compliance with license agreements by users who extract mineral waters, Rosprirodnadzor checked 225 wells and identified 699 violations.
The agency sent information to Rosnedra that "part of the licenses must be terminated with irresponsible users of natural resources, since gross violations are being committed," said Radionova.
In particular, we are talking about non-submission of geological information, inaccurate accounting of extracted and used mineral waters, non-observance of sanitary protection, excess loss of resources, violations of technical projects for the development of deposits.
According to Radionova, the deadlines for eliminating violations have been extended from 3 to 12 months in relation to mining companies. “I hope that subsoil users will draw conclusions for themselves, and together with you we will achieve that we will rationally use our richest resource - mineral waters,” said the head of Rosprirodnadzor.
Radionova expressed confidence that eliminating the lack of treatment facilities is the most important of the tasks. She mentioned checks in the Republic of Dagestan, where housing and communal services continue to be the main sources of pollution. Simply put, there are no sewage and wastewater systems at all and waste is discharged into the soil. But the situation with treatment facilities is fixable, says Radionova.
“The Rhine 20 years ago was dirtier than the Don and Volga. Today crayfish are found there. So we can do that too,” she said, adding that the requirements for wastewater are higher than for drinking water. "Investors from abroad say: are you crazy? Such sewage treatment plants cannot be built …», said the head of the department. She added that Rosprirodnadzor is asking the Ministry of Construction for help in this matter.
The head of Rosprirodnadzor called for the careful and responsible use of the country's richest resource - sources of mineral water. According to her, most of the sources on the European continent have already exhausted themselves. Radionova expressed confidence that water resources are the "future oil".
