The ceremony took place within the framework of the representative forum “Challenges-2030. Sustainable Development of the Regions” at the Moscow Regional Information Center “Russia Today” on July 7. The award was granted to 17 representatives of the Russian business community for personal merits in achieving sustainable development goals.
“This year marks the 20th anniversary of the ESG and Sustainable Development Committee of the Association of Managers. Starting as a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, it went through changes in both name and function in response to the transformation of the socio-economic agenda. The committee members did a great job of introducing the principles of corporate social responsibility first, and then sustainable development and ESG into the domestic business environment. Our award is a sign to those who, based on their own experience, their mistakes and victories, developed social standards for doing business, bringing them closer to the requirements of the global economy,” says Vadim Kovalev, First Deputy Executive Director of the Association of Managers.
Among the laureates are representatives of such companies as Sberbank, Norilsk Nickel, Graduate School of Management of St. Petersburg State University, Unilever in Russia, Rosatom State Corporation, Severstal and others. Thus, Larisa Zelkova, Senior Vice President of Norilsk Nickel, became the winner of the award "For contribution to the development of ESG in Russia" in the nomination "For promoting sustainable economic growth, full employment and decent work for all". Alexey Novakov received an award for the activities of the Polar Branch of Norilsk Nickel in ensuring the continuous operation of the port of Dudinka.
Being a key object of the logistics infrastructure of the Arctic, Dudinka guarantees an uninterrupted supply of food to Taimyr.
Now ESG technologies are an actively developing area in business, and the ESG agenda is becoming more and more relevant for businesses in Russia. Enterprises have previously implemented sustainable development criteria, paying great attention to environmental and sustainable development issues.
