The press service of the administration of St. Petersburg announced the development of a new interregional Arctic tourist route from the cycle "Following the Great Northern Expeditions". It is planned that a whole series of routes will be created in memory of the achievements of expeditions to the regions of the Far North.

The first of them will run from St. Petersburg to the Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Pustozersk will become its central point. This is the first Russian city in the Arctic, built at the end of the 15th century. Here the researchers began the development of new territories, studied geology and botany.

The tourist route to Pustozersk will be combined. In summer it will be possible to get there by boats, and in winter by snowmobiles. The new route is expected to remind tourists of Vitus Bering's Great Northern Expedition.
