The State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the second reading a bill that abolishes the border regime for Russian-flagged cruise ships in the Arctic. This is stated in the legislative support system.
The document has already been prepared for the third reading.
The explanatory note to the document says that now more favorable conditions have been created for foreign cruise ships than for Russian ones, which, due to the rules of the border regime, are forced to issue numerous permits.
It is proposed to replace them with a notification that will be sent to the relevant authorities before the start of the cruise.
Simplification of the procedure will allow tour operators, cruise companies and operators to create more attractive routes compared to foreign cruise ships.
The bill amends Article 16 of the law "On the State Border of the Russian Federation".
