The plans to introduce a tourist tax in the Murmansk region were announced at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy by the governor of the region Andrey Chibis.
As an example, he cited the successful practice of introducing fees for visiting a nature park in Teriberka. "The tourist flow is an important sector in the region's economy," Chibis said.
The Governor of the Murmansk region said that two months after the introduction of the fee for visiting the natural park in Teriberka, the amount of revenue to the budget of specially protected natural areas amounted to five million rubles.
