Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Nikolai Zhuravlev visited Norilsk, where he visited social infrastructure construction sites.
He said that new apartment buildings are being built in Norilsk, landscaping work is being carried out, dismantling unused workshops, and major repairs of engineering infrastructure.
In the city, in accordance with the Social and Economic Development Plan of the Municipal Formation of Norilsk, a new clinic, school and kindergartens will appear.
The senator visited the construction site of a multidisciplinary innovative educational complex for children with 1,100 seats, as well as the site where the “City of Labor Valor” stela will be erected, and also inspected the reconstruction of the building to accommodate the all-season public space “Tower”.
The parliamentarian visited the Nadezhda metallurgical plant of the Norilsk Nickel company, where he got acquainted with the progress of the sulfur project. By 2025, the environmental program should ensure a reduction in sulfur dioxide emissions by 90%, he noted.
“The work is progressing, we discussed with the regional authorities and the management of the city-forming enterprise, including the acceleration of the construction time for social facilities that city residents are waiting for,” said the vice-speaker of the Federation Council.
