The State Duma Committee for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic proposed that the government provide small and medium-sized entrepreneurs with preferential budget loans to co-finance projects to create tourist infrastructure in Artik.
The members of the Duma committee also recommended that the Cabinet of Ministers encourage tour operators to form tourist products providing for visits to the Arctic regions.
According to the deputies, with the budget co-financing and preferential loans the state can help businesses to develop tourism infrastructure in the North.
Parliamentarians propose to attract travelers with the help of cashback – a refund of part of the cost of vouchers.
According to statistics, every traveler leaves at least 30,000 rubles in the Arctic, where 130 tourist projects have been implemented.
By the end of 2023, the tourist flow to the Arctic exceeded 1.1 million people.
