A trip to the Arctic will cost an average tourist 40-200,000 rubles, but it all depends on the chosen program and the city, said Artur Muradyan, Vice president of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.

"Someone can go on icebreakers – this is already 5-10 thousand dollars. The region is huge – starting from Norilsk, where tourists also go. It's all the Arctic. Visits to extreme regions are growing, a very popular destination, people are going for the northern Lights and for what is not available in other regions," the expert said in an interview with the National News Service.

Alexey Chekunkov, the head of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, previously reported that more than 1.1 million travelers visited the Arctic in 2023. At the same time, 97% of them rated such an experience as positively as possible, which is the highest indicator of Russians' satisfaction with tours within the country.
