The Russian Arctic National Park invites Russians to write an Arctic Dictation. The action will take place on February 28 – the Day of the Arctic. Schools, secondary specialized educational institutions, universities, museums, youth, veterans and other public organizations are invited to participate — they can become a project site and host those who want to write a dictation.
"The participants of the Arctic Dictation will answer 30 questions concerning the history of the discovery and exploration of the most severe continent of the Earth, its fauna and flora, natural phenomena, features of Arctic toponyms, names and destinies of Russian and foreign researchers. For each correct answer, the participant is awarded one point, respectively, the winners will be the participants who scored 30 points," the message on the national park's website says.
The promotion is being held for the second time. Last year, it was attended by more than 2,600 participants in different cities. The purpose of the campaign is to draw public attention to environmental protection activities, including in high latitudes.
