Taimyr is preparing to celebrate Reindeer Herder's Day

The first festive events will start on April 13 in the villages of Popigai and Tukhard. Nomads from the tundra will gather for the holiday to participate in reindeer sledding races, meet with relatives and friends.

A week later, on April 20, the celebration of Reindeer Herder's Day will be held in the villages of Novorybnaya and Nosok, the press service of the Taimyr administration reported.

These days, residents and guests will have an exciting and eventful program: the work of the camp, on the territory of which the plague will be installed, where everyone will be treated to a shurpa and hot tea. 

A trade fair will be organized for the nomads, and according to tradition, creative teams will perform on the festive stages. The main spectacle for everyone will be the reindeer sledding race, where the best among men and women will be determined.

In addition, guests and participants of the reindeer herder days will be able to take part in traditional sports events. Valuable gifts will be presented to the winners and participants of the competitions and contests.

It should be noted that during the celebration the tundra population and residents of villages will be given the opportunity to undergo a medical examination.
