The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma a bill on the abolition of compliance with the rules of the border regime for Russian cruise ships entering the Arctic and the Far East.
Amendments are being made to the law on the state border of the Russian Federation.
According to the bill, Russian cruise ships will be able to enter ports and points adjacent to the territories of the Arctic zone and the Far Eastern Federal District without passing border control.
The Cabinet of Ministers believes that this will allow tour operators and cruise companies to form more attractive routes, reduce the cost of tours and increase business interest in this area.
At the same time, the tour operator will have to transfer information about the route, passengers and crew members to the border authorities of the Federal Security Service.
The law will come into force 180 days after its official publication.
