In the Murmansk region, the project "BUT I travel!" was launched, the main purpose of which is to introduce residents of military garrisons and closed administrative–territorial formations of the region to the Kola Arctic. This was announced on its website by the regional Tourism Committee.

"Residents of our military garrisons traditionally rest once a year in the middle zone or in the southern regions of the country. And often their acquaintance with the Murmansk region is limited to the regional center. But we definitely have something to offer and something to surprise. More than half a million people come to the region every year to see what the Arctic is with their own eyes," Alexander Eliseev, chairman of the Murmansk Region Tourism Committee, said in a statement.

The presentation of the project took place within the framework of a meeting organized by the public organization "Women's Council of the Submarine Forces of the Northern Fleet" in Gadzhievo. The Tourism Committee, together with the Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk Region, as well as regional tour operators, told residents of Alexandrovsk about travel opportunities in the region.

The project "BUT I travel!" is formed in two directions.

The first is the preparation by the regional tourist information center of special offers for independent trips of residents of BUT in the region with an emphasis on the nearest tourist locations.

The second scenario involves the formation of long-term partnerships with regional tour operators who have their own transport and a team of certified guides to organize sightseeing trips around the region.

"Within the framework of the project, a number of meetings are planned in other closed administrative-territorial entities of the Murmansk region," the Tourism Committee of the region reported.
