On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, an additional 32 million rubles were allocated in 2023 to support parks and reserves of the Russian Arctic.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, in 2024 the amount of funding will be increased by a multiple.

Since the beginning of 2023, the tourist flow to the Zapolyarye reserves (there are 32 specially protected natural territories of federal significance in the region), has increased by 63% and reached 62.500 people.

Earlier Yuri Trutnev, the presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, said that for tourist flights along the Northern Sea Route, the option of building cargo and passenger cruise liners of ice class is being discussed.
