More than 1.1 million travelers visited the Arctic last year, while 97% of tourists rated their experience as positively as possible, which is the highest indicator of satisfaction of Russians with tours within the country. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Regional Development Alexey Chekunkov.
According to him, 130 new projects are currently planned to be implemented with state support in the field of Arctic tourism.
The head of the department added that the task of the ministry today is to ensure Russia's leadership in Arctic science and technologies for the development of the North.
