Karelia will receive 250 million rubles until 2026 for the development of the ski and biathlon complex in Kostomuksha, the head of the republic Artur Parfenchikov said.

"Karelia has already approved the allocation of more than 250 million by 2026 for the next stages of the development of the ski and biathlon complex in Kostomushka," Parfenchikov said.

"Biathlon is not only a sport, it is, of course, a serious economy. We understand this perfectly well. We will work to ensure that we really have a state-of-the-art ski biathlon complex in the Arctic."

The region will receive funds within the framework of the state program of socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the State Commission on Arctic Development reported.
