The participants of the working group on ensuring the transport, logistics and socio-economic development of the Arctic proposed to create a separate national project for the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), as reported by TASS.
"An important topic is the prioritization of national projects in the Arctic, <...> the allocation of a separate national project for the development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation," said Andrey Chibis, Governor of the Murmansk Region, during a meeting of the working group.
The head of the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation, Alexey Chekunkov, said: "We will prepare proposals for the modernization of facilities for even more effective development of the economy, social sphere and national security in the Arctic, with an emphasis on technological development, social development, and the creation of living and working conditions in the Arctic that would give people the opportunity for the first time in history it is comfortable to live and implement projects."
