Two families from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, together with like-minded people, are planning to build an ethnopark, an art residence and a tourist center in a picturesque place near the village of Muzhi. They took the land under the Hektar program. Project initiator Anna Brusnitsyna spoke about the plans of the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV), which oversees this program.

“We managed to choose a unique place - on the old road of nomadic reindeer herders, not far from the village of Muzhi, famous for its untouched nature and amazing artifacts of antiquity. An ethnopark will appear here, and a road cross will be restored, on which many generations of Khanty, Nenets and Komi-Zyryans left their tribal signs - “tamgas”. For tourists, "hectares" will become the starting point for traveling to reindeer herders and a place where you can comfortably relax alone with nature," the message on the KRDV website says.

In addition, it is planned to equip glamping and an art residence on the territory of the ethnopark, where local craftsmen and fashion artists will update the art of their ancestors.

“We have been organizing ethnic excursions for several years now, but it was not possible to provide comfortable accommodation on the spot. Although a classic hotel in a village is comfortable, it breaks the impression, and you can really feel the life, culture, and creativity of your ancestors only by immersing yourself in the environment. On the site, we will install glamping houses and tents, which will be stylized as the real dwellings of the Khanty and Komi-Zyryans, ”KRDV quotes Brusnitsyna.

Construction is expected to start in the summer. Already, like-minded people have the necessary equipment, including special all-terrain vehicles that do not injure the northern nature. During the arrangement of the ethnopark, representatives of the ancient families of the Khanty and Zyryans will be invited to help restore the signs of their ancestors and decorate the glamping.

“In addition, Anna Brusnitsyna has prepared projects and a business plan for participation in a regional tourism competition, and also plans to compete for the presidential grant of the Cultural Initiatives Foundation,” the report says.

The KRDV recalled that the Hektar program has been operating in the Far East for more than 6 years. Since August 2021, it has spread to the territory of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation. To date, 112.8 thousand people have received land in the Far East, and 4.4 thousand people in the Arctic. The land is provided free of charge and the application can be made online.
