The area around the Russian State Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic in St. Petersburg will become a public space with an Arctic garden.
According to the newspaper "Business Petersburg", the institution has announced a competition for the development of a landscaping project near the building.
"In order to preserve the historical context and create a memorable visual image, objects related to the exploration and exploration of the poles are being created on the territory of the museum. It is supposed to break up the Arctic garden," the terms of reference say.
In addition to the Arctic garden, recreation areas, playgrounds and exhibition space are planned to be created on the territory around the museum.
The concept of landscaping the territory of a cultural institution assumes that this space can be used for events both at the regional level and federal significance.
The contract is expected to be completed by the end of May 2024.
