The traditional event festival "Journey to the Pole of Cold" will be held in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) from March 30 to 31. The main events will be held in the villages of Oymyakon, Tomtor and Yuchiugei of the Oymyakon district. This was announced on its website by the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.

Within the framework of the festival, the tourist route "The Source of Indigirka" will be launched, and the forum "My business: Oymyakon - winter tourism center" will also be held.

"The purpose of the festival is to enhance the positive image of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the tourist market and popularize the exclusive tourist brands of the region: the Pole of Cold, Yakut winter, Chyshaan –the Lord of Cold, so that as many residents of our country as possible learn about the unique region of the Russian North, its people and customs," the KRDV noted.
