National route "Saint Petersburg‑Petersburg. The New geography" covers the points of attraction of tourists who have appeared in the city in recent years. Among them are Sevkabel Port, Island of Forts, Erarta Museum of Modern Art and others. This was announced by the city tourism portal Visit Petersburg.
"The program includes one of the main gems of classical St. Petersburg – the Hermitage, but in a new format. Guests are invited to visit the modern building of the museum - the restoration and preservation center "Staraya Derevnya", as well as a bus tour with watching a VR film about the Hermitage is included in the route," the message says.
The new national route is universal and all-season. Tours are conducted by 10 tour operators, the next departure is scheduled for December 21. The task of the New Tourist Geography project is to show all the diversity of the Northern Capital.
"The familiar image of the museum city was organically complemented by creative public spaces and unusual museums, bright events and gastronomic places, author's excursions. The route will be interesting for both independent tourists and supporters of organized recreation," said Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg.
