The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development has announced that over the past four years, the number of trips by Russian tourists to Uzbekistan has increased more than tenfold - from 37,000 to 403,000 people.
At the same time, the interest of Uzbek tourists in Russia is also growing. Last year, there were more than 800,000 trips to the Russian Federation, which is twice as much as in the previous year.
In general, the mutual tourist flow has already reached pre-pandemic levels. This was facilitated by the visa-free regime between the countries and direct air traffic connecting the capitals and major regional cities. At the moment, the issue of increasing the number of flights and diversifying the flight geography is being worked out.
Russian tourists are especially attracted by the absence of a language barrier, as well as the opportunity to get acquainted with real architectural masterpieces included in the UNESCO World Heritage List - Registan, Shakhi-Zinda, Bibi-Khanym Mosque and other sights of the legendary Uzbek cities - Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
