Rosa Khutor (Russia), Shymkent (Kazakhstan) and Amirsoy (Uzbekistan) resorts began work on the creation of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts (EAGC) in June 2023. In November of the same year, the Shahdag resort (Azerbaijan) joined this process. The association is designed to provide a platform for the strategic development of tourism in Eurasia, professional communication, promotion of best practices and brands of mountain resorts. Among the main goals of the alliance are the promotion of all–season mountain tourism and the popularization of an active lifestyle, the exchange of necessary information and best practices, professional development of employees of mining complexes, the development of common approaches to safety standards. An important stage in the work of the EAGC will be the creation of an interstate tourist route. The Festival of Mountain Resorts of Eurasia was the first of the events planned by the EAGC, consolidating specialists of the ski industry of the Eurasian countries. It is timed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the Sochi Olympics, which is celebrated this year.
- We are glad to have the opportunity to host such a large-scale event as the Festival of Mountain Resorts of Eurasia. I believe that it is precisely such events, combining a variety of communication formats, that make it possible to create the right atmosphere for a professional and friendly dialogue. In this way, we contribute to strengthening interstate, economic and cultural ties between our countries. We are actively working in this direction, the activities of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts, under the auspices of which the festival is taking place, will provide a unified level of service and loyalty programs for mountain resorts, which will stimulate the general tourist flow," said Alexander Belokobylsky, General Director of the Rosa Khutor resort.
