In the village of Komsomolsky, Saratov region, the restoration of the Zhidkaya Solyanka River has been completed. The work was carried out within the framework of the national project "Ecology". This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia.
"As a result, 4.85 kilometers of the riverbed have been cleared of long-term silt deposits and debris," the ministry said in a statement on its website.
For the restoration of the river in 2021-2023
Rosvodresursy sent 28.6 million rubles.
During the cleaning process, the project had to be adjusted due to a sharp increase in the water level in the river during high water, when the depth increased to 2.5 meters. It became necessary to carry out work from the pontoon.
In total, about 187 thousand cubic meters of bottom sediments were extracted from the Liquid Solyanka. The water area was also cleared of shrubs and other cluttering aquatic vegetation. As a result, the capacity of the reservoir on Liquid Solyanka increased.
"Water is used by residents not only for household needs, for example, for watering vegetable gardens, but also, very importantly, it is the only source of drinking water supply for more than a thousand local residents, since groundwater is not suitable for drinking due to its strong salinity," said the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Saratov region Konstantin Doronin, whose words are given in the message.
