The autumn reforestation season in Russia has reached the goal of the year - volunteers planted 70 million trees as part of the "Save the Forest" campaign, which took place in all regions. In honor of this event, Russian cities included green lighting on TV towers, building facades and architectural structures. This was announced by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia on its website.
"Among the participants of the flash mob were cities that formed the word "FOREST" on the map of Russia. These include Volgograd, Tambov, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Ufa (letter "L"), Nizhnevartovsk, Salekhard, Tazovsky, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk (letter "E"), Magadan, Yakutsk, Neryungri and Khabarovsk (letter "C")," the department noted.
According to the head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Sovetnikov, thanks to the "Save the Forest" campaign, the area of planted areas increases significantly every year, and this solves the problem of improving the environmental situation in the country.
"One of the tasks of the national Ecology project is to achieve a balance in terms of areas of forest disposal due to logging, forest diseases, fires and areas of reforestation, laying new forests. For several years in a row, the area of restored forests has been higher than the area of cut-down and dead territories. And the events of the "Save the Forest" campaign, of course, make a significant contribution to achieving the stated indicators, including through the activity of residents of all regions of our country," the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources quotes Sovetnikov.
Green lighting has also appeared in the regions on dozens of TV towers of the Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Network, which traditionally supports actions in support of the national Ecology project.
