By the beginning of the winter season, the Museum of Archeology of the resort has developed a special master class for schoolchildren.
Designed for ages from seven to 12 years, it allows you not only to get acquainted with the profession of an archaeologist, but also to try it out in practice.
The Museum of Archeology of the Rosa Khutor resort was opened in 2018. Its collection includes historical materials obtained during archaeological surveys in the area of construction of Olympic facilities. The exhibits illustrate the rich history of the region: from the moment of the formation of the Caucasus Mountains until Modern times. The collection contains such unusual objects as the skull of a large Caucasian cave bear about 27 thousand years old and ammonites, which are about 116 million years old. The museum uses modern exhibition formats, uses multimedia technologies, and operates interactive complexes. All this attracts visitors.
- According to our data, almost 15,000 people visited us from May to November. Young visitors are particularly interested in master classes. The novelty of the winter season will be an "Archaeological expedition", during which the children get acquainted with the profession of an archaeologist in practice, - representatives of the museum said.
At the master class, its participants not only gain theoretical knowledge and learn how the excavations take place, what tools are needed for them, but also take part in a real expedition. Especially for this, a sandbox was built right in the museum building, which was filled with hypoallergenic sand. In it, with the help of special tools, you can find shards, spearheads, arrows, remnants of tools of ancient people and even coins.
