Visitors to the exhibition-forum "Russia" at VDNH can learn about the conservation of rivers and lakes using the example of a unique reservoir created in the pavilion of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation "Naturograd".
"It is inhabited by fish and turtles, but just one plastic bottle disrupts the healthy life of the reservoir. That is, visitors can see what happens to water when various waste gets into it and, of course, find out what measures the state is taking to protect all the country's reservoirs," the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources reported on its website.
In the Nature City, guests can also count their "water footprint". Thanks to a special program developed by Rosvodresurs, you can find out how well you treat water waste and how a small change in habits will reduce its daily consumption.
According to the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, the state program "Reproduction and use of natural resources" and three federal projects - "Preservation of unique water bodies", "Improvement of the Volga", "Preservation of Lake Baikal" are currently in effect for the improvement and protection of water bodies.
"Thanks to these directions, dams and shore defenses, sewage treatment plants and culverts are being built, riverbeds and coastal areas are being cleaned. For example, 96 sewage treatment plants and 54 culverts have already been built and reconstructed under the federal project "Improvement of the Volga"," the message says.
All regions of the country, federal agencies, corporations and major companies participate in the Russia exhibition and forum. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosvodresursy, Roshydromet, Rosleskhoz, Rosnedra, Rosprirodnadzor and the Russian Environmental Operator opened a joint exhibition in two pavilions: "Naturograd" (tent B) and "Naturograd.
