An artificial surf park is set to open in Abu Dhabi this October. The United Arab Emirates has announced that the Surf Abu Dhabi park, equipped with the world's most advanced artificial wave-generating technology, will be the largest of its kind globally.
Striving to create the "biggest and best," the Emirates promises that the water attraction, located on Hudayriat Island, will break multiple world records, featuring the world's largest man-made wave pool, the highest artificial wave, and the longest artificial wave ride.
The surf park caters to surfers of all skill levels, from beginners to professionals. After certification by the World Surf League, whose representatives were involved in the park's development, Surf Abu Dhabi will host major international surfing competitions.
The ambitious project is part of Modon's global master plan, which also includes the region's first velodrome, scheduled to open in 2025, and Abu Dhabi's largest urban park, spanning 2.25 million square meters.
Adjacent to Surf Abu Dhabi will be an open-air beach gym, numerous sports courts, the 321 Sports indoor sports center, a climbing wall, a rope adventure course, and the UAE's largest permanent outdoor obstacle course, now open to outdoor CrossFit enthusiasts.
