The official tourism portal of the Murmansk region Murmansk.Travel has announced the start of the white nights season in the region. At this time, the sun does not sink below 6 degrees below the horizon, so it is light around the clock, and stars are almost invisible in the night sky.

"Following the white nights, on May 21, the polar day will come, which will last 2 months. This means that until July 22,the sun will not set below the horizon around the clock," - the message says.

As the portal notes, during this period tourists have the opportunity to travel around the Kola Peninsula both day and night - to walk through the northern cities, visit night excursions and admire whales on a photo hunt.
