The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation reported that by the end of the year three large landfills in the Kirovsky, Leninsky and Sovetsky districts of Omsk will be eliminated. The work is carried out within the framework of the Clean Country project. It is expected that new recreation areas for citizens will appear on the site of the facilities.
The liquidation of facilities is carried out using modern technologies: with the formation of waterproofing, laying drainage and creating a fertile soil layer in order to green the territory in the future.
"The readiness of projects in the Kirov and Leninsky districts is more than 50%, in the Soviet - 77%. After the reclamation of unauthorized landfills in Omsk, the volume of emissions of pollutants into the atmospheric air will be reduced by 14.4 thousand tons," the message says.
Last year, a landfill in the Central District was reclaimed. In the future, decorative and coniferous trees will be planted in its place, paths for pedestrians and bicycles will be equipped. The soil for landscaping has already been prepared.
In total, 128 landfills have been removed in the regions by 2023 since the beginning of the implementation of the federal Clean Country project. From 2025, the continuation of this project will be the "General Cleaning". As part of it, first of all, the most dangerous objects that have a negative impact on the health of residents and the environment will be eliminated.
