Lodges situated in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, are positive that 2024 will witness an all-time high in touristic arrivals, as the second half of 2023 witnessed a robust increase in occupancy rates, according to media reports.

“Bookings recovered extremely strongly in 2023, and we were very pleased with the second half of the year in particular, where we had three record months in terms of arrivals, occupancies, and room rates,” Albida Tourism Director of Africa Ross Kennedy was quoted as saying by Tourism Update.

“This year looks equally strong, if not stronger, and we are hoping that it will break all our best records we achieved in 2019 and 2018.”

Kennedy said that the encouraging results had fortified the group's determination to reinvest in the enterprise.

In 2023, the group expanded its portfolio to include the Victoria Falls Safari Spa, renovated all 72 rooms and central areas of its principal property, the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, and performed a soft refurbishment of the Victoria Falls Safari Suites.

Significant international source markets have renewed interest in Victoria Falls thanks to investments made possible by infrastructure projects and public and private sector marketing initiatives.
