The official website of the government of the Sverdlovsk region announced three new popular science routes that are available to tourists. They will introduce travelers to the world of science and modern technologies in the region.
The routes are called “From Space to Atom”, “Science – the Foundation of Domestic Industry” and “Ekaterinburg”. Among the objects that tourists can visit is the Kourovka Observatory. A tour of it will be conducted by scientists who will talk about research and demonstrate telescopes.
In addition, travelers can take part in an excursion to the Beloyarsk nuclear power plant. There they will get acquainted with the machine room and the turbine - a mechanism weighing 400 tons that makes 3 thousand revolutions per minute. The station's scientists will simply and clearly talk about nuclear fusion, show fast neutron reactors and take you to the control room, from where station operators monitor the operation of the nuclear reactor.
Tourists can also visit the Cherepanov House museum of the history of technology, dedicated to the creators of the first Russian steam locomotive, and other objects.
