From October 31 to November 9, a Mentoring internship program was held in Moscow for the winners and prize–winners of the first season of the Ecosophy project of the Russia - Land of Opportunities platform. The participants discussed the development of ecology in the country. In particular, the team of trainees met with representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia and with the heads of relevant departments.
This was reported by NIA "Ecology" on its website.
"The goals of the Mentoring internship program are to create an institute of public "stand-ins" of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, conduct educational events in the field of ecology, conduct expert evaluation and form proposals for the greening of the RANEPA Moscow campus, and much more," the agency said in a statement.
According to the chairman of the Public Council at Roshydromet, the head of the Expert Council of "Ecosophia" Vadim Petrov, within the framework of the project it was possible to form an understanding that professions in the field of ecology are in demand and necessary.
"The adoption of important decisions in this area, the development of strategic laws and much more primarily depends on human capital. This is exactly what we are trying to work out in such events," Petrov was quoted as saying.
In turn, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia Svetlana Radchenko, whose words are quoted in the message, noted that conducting such internships contributes to the involvement of the public in environmental activities, improving the level of ecological culture and promoting an ecological lifestyle.
