The results of the high tour season of 2023 were summed up at a meeting of the Russian-Turkish working group on tourism, which took place in Ankara on November 24. This was announced by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia on its website.

"Over the past three quarters of 2023, the growth of tourist traffic from Russia to Turkey amounted to 30% compared to the same period last year and exceeded the figure of 4.4 million trips, the volume of inbound tourist traffic to Russia increased by 70%," the report says.

As expected, by the end of the year, Russia and Turkey will get as close as possible to the pre-pandemic volumes of mutual tourist trips.

"It is necessary to make the Turkish destination accessible to tourists from Russia both in terms of cost and from a transport point of view. Both the travel industry and airlines note that the demand for passenger air transportation consistently exceeds the supply," the words of the participant of the meeting, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Vladimir Ilyichev are quoted in the message.

Representatives of the Turkish side, in turn, expressed their readiness to continue working to create the most comfortable conditions for Russian tourists and thanked colleagues from the Russian Federation for launching a single electronic visa mechanism in the country, which already stimulates the attraction of Turkish citizens to Russia.
