The press service of the Kulikovo Field Museum-Reserve announced the launch of a new VR quest. It will become part of the new exposition of the museum in Epiphany, which will be devoted to the history of the Great Serif Line and one of its fortresses.

In the XVI century, Epiphany played an important role in the defense of the Moscow state on its southern outskirts. The Epiphany prison was built here, where Streltsy, Cossacks and other serving people defended themselves from the steppe people who raided and drove people into slavery.

"In 2024, as part of the celebration of the 650th anniversary of the Battle of Kulikovo, a new exhibition "Epiphany" will open on Kulikovo Field in the restored Puchkov House. A fortress on the border of the field." She will tell you about the history of the memorial site after the collapse of the Great Golden Horde. A new virtual reality quest will allow you to immerse yourself in those distant and important historical events," the message says.

VR quest "Gates of Kulikov field. The Battle for Epiphany" was created on the basis of many years of research on the territory of Kulikov Field. He offers the player the role of Mikhailo's servant in the Epiphany fortress at the height of the steppe raid. The player will have to collect scraps of a report about the approach of the enemy and with real historical characters from the middle of the XVI century to defend the prison. Together they will repair the mechanism that lowers the grille of the travel tower. In addition, players will learn how to clean, load and use firearms in virtual reality.

VR quest will not be the only multimedia interactive product, however, visitors will be able to live the most vivid emotions from immersion in the era of the XVI century in virtual reality. Throughout the quest, players will be accompanied by hints and historical information. The items in the VR quest are virtual copies of archaeological finds and reconstructions that will be presented in the new Epiphany exposition.

The exposition "Epiphany. The fortress on the border of the field" will be located in a restored architectural monument – the Puchkov House. Costumes and weapons of archers, Cossacks, gunners, banners of Cossack and soldier regiments, authentic artifacts of the XVI-XVII centuries discovered by the Tula archaeological expedition will be presented on 300 square meters. Most of the archaeological finds are from the territory of monuments of the Tula region: zasechny Orlov Gate, Epiphany settlements, Dedilov settlement, Tula.
