On December 2, specialists of the protected area system will tell visitors of the Golden Turtle International Festival about the records of protected areas and the most outstanding natural phenomena of the country. This will happen as part of the third thematic day of the Roszapovedcenter of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia at the festival.
"Festival visitors will find out where the most secretive beast lives, where the saltiest lake is located, where the forest dances, as well as many other facts," a message on the Roszapovedcenter website says.
The guests of the event will be addressed by employees of the department, nature reserves and national parks, as well as representatives of public organizations and projects aimed at preserving and restoring nature. Visitors will have a unique opportunity to hear the stories of experts from all over the country who study and preserve the nature of the Far East, the Arctic, the Caspian Sea, Central Russia and many other natural regions.
"Visitors of the festival will make a real journey through the protected area of Russia and remember in which reserve you can see the largest mammal in the world, where the largest predator lives, and where the smallest seal lives, which protected area proudly bears the title of "the most muskrat" and which is "the most feline," the Roszapovedcenter noted.
In addition, guests will be able to see specially protected natural areas with their own eyes as part of VR screenings in the cinema hall of the festival.
"Interest in eco-tourism is growing every year, however, many interesting sites and thematic projects worthy of visiting and participating are not yet well known to a wide audience. We want to arouse interest in them, to show how beautiful our country is and what contribution each of us can make to the preservation of its natural wealth," said Daria Matsuk, head of the Roszapovedcenter, whose words are quoted in the message.
