Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that a new site of the I.M.Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University Botanical Garden will appear in Krylatskoye. It will be built between the Southern Tatarovsky Pond and the Krylatskoye Ice Palace.
The garden will be laid out in the Moskvoretsky Natural and Historical Park on a plot of 5.5 hectares. More than one thousand medicinal plants from the university's collection, which is now located on the Shelepikhinskaya embankment, will be transferred there. Basically, those crops that did not grow well in the old place will be transferred.
In addition, a non-capital educational and laboratory building with an area of 2.2 thousand square meters will be built on the new site. All work is scheduled to be completed this year.
