Russian Railways Holding has again announced a 50% discount on travel for children from 10 to 17 years old inclusive in the period from June 1 to August 31.
"The special tariff will allow families with children to save money on organizing summer holidays," the company's website says.
Over 20 million children have used this service for eight years.
"The discount is provided to all children aged 10 to 17 years inclusive when applying for travel documents in common and reserved carriages of fast and long-distance passenger trains (including branded ones) and class 2 and 3 wagons of motor-car rolling stock (long-distance electric trains) of JSC FPC trains when traveling through the territory of the Russian Federation (from/to the stations of the Russian Federation)," the Russian Railways noted
In addition, children of the same age will be able to travel during the summer holidays at special prices and in compartment cars of double-decker trains. But in this case, the ticket price for them will be comparable to half the cost of travel along this route in a reserved carriage.
You can purchase travel documents on the official website of Russian Railways, using the Russian Railways Passengers mobile application or at ticket offices. "The discount is granted automatically when you specify the "Full" tariff and enter information about children. The age of the child is determined on the day of the start of the trip.
A 50% discount is provided only from the fare, the fee for using a set of bed linen is charged in full (when traveling in double-decker compartment cars, the cost of a set of services is additionally charged)," the message says.
