South Africans have finally been allowed to travel to Seychelles and there is no need for them to quarantine upon arrival.
Seychelles allowed South African tourists to enter the country from September 13 after it removed the southern African country from its restricted countries list.
The move means both vaccinated and unvaccinated South Africans can gain access to the destination.
However, travellers will need to produce a negative Covid-19 PCR test taken 72 hours before departure and submit a Health Travel Authorisation form, according to IOL.
Meanwhile, Mauritius has also lifted the travel ban on South Africans a move expected to boost the island nation’s tourism ahead of the December holiday season.
Commercial flights from South Africa to Mauritius will commence on 1 October 2021.
“Mauritius has worked hard to develop and implement protocols that will keep both travellers and citizens as safe as possible from Covid-19 and the effects of the pandemic. Travellers can be assured of the government’s commitment to the health and safety of all travellers,” Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority director Arvind Bundhun was quoted as saying by Businesstech.
“South Africans have been longing for the Mauritius they know and love – from white sandy beaches and clear blue seas and skies, to our warm and friendly people, and so much more. Mauritius is ready and we can’t wait to welcome South Africans back to our beautiful country.”
