Sochi Welcomes 14,000 Foreign Tourists in Three Months

The number of foreign tourists visiting Sochi in the first quarter of 2024 reached 14,000, already tripling the number from the same period last year according to Deputy Head of Sochi for Economics and Finance Svetlana Kalinina. This figure represents 80% of the total number of foreign tourists who visited the resort city in all of 2023.

"According to the Federal Migration Service, 14,000 people were registered in Sochi for tourism purposes in the first quarter of 2024," the city administration said. "In total, 18,000 people were registered for tourism purposes in Sochi in 2023."

The largest number of foreign tourists to Sochi in the first three months of the year came from:

  • Uzbekistan - 5,600 people
  • Armenia - 3,200 people
  • Belarus - 1,300 people
  • Tajikistan - 1,100 people

Tourists from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan also visited the resort.

Since the beginning of 2024, the tourist flow to Sochi has amounted to more than 2.3 million people, which is 9% higher than the same period in 2023.

This news indicates that Sochi is becoming an increasingly popular destination for international tourism. This has a positive impact on the city's economy and creates new opportunities for the development of the tourism industry.
