An interdepartmental headquarters will work around the clock for comfortable rest and safety at the resort. This was announced by the head of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev.
- We haven't seen such a hotel occupancy rate for 10 years – the mountain cluster is booked, we are waiting for a lot of guests. The snow has already fallen, and residents from all over the country will come to spend the holidays with us. We are expecting more than 450 thousand tourists for the New Year holidays, 300 thousand in Sochi alone. We deploy such an operation every year, but now it is especially important to clearly respond to the warning. This is the image of the region and our work. The quality of the organization should be at the highest level," said the governor of Kuban.
The skiing season on Krasnaya Polyana started in early December — this is the earliest opening of the resort in the last five years. Therefore, the tourist flow by the end of the year will amount to at least 18.5 million tourists.
- About 2 thousand accommodation facilities with a capacity of 220 thousand seats will receive guests. The number of rooms for December-February has already been booked by more than 40 percent, in the mountain resorts of Sochi – by 65 percent. During the New Year holidays, the load of the Black Sea resorts will be about 70 percent, the Sochi mountain cluster - by an average of 90 percent, 4* and 5* hotels – by 100 percent, - said Vice-Governor Alexander Ruppel.
66 cable cars and 124 tracks will operate in the mountain cluster. The length of the ski slopes has been increased by three kilometers, it exceeds 170 kilometers and is the largest in the country. This year, new facilities have been opened - an alpaca park, a children's entertainment center, a gastromarket of farm products and glamping at the Rosa Khutor resort, a domed restaurant on Krasnaya Polyana and a cable car with cabins for 30 people. Security in resort towns and the Sochi mountain cluster will be provided by police officers, Rosgvardiya and Cossacks, if necessary, emergency rescue services, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Kuban-SPAS, ambulance crews will be involved.
