The press service of the Russian Union of Tourism Industry (RUTI) reported that the demand for organized tourist trips from Russia to the DPRK is growing. According to Olga Kudryavtseva, head of the Primorsky branch of the RUTI, tourist and cultural ties of the Primorsky Territory with North Korea have significantly strengthened in recent months.
Regular tourist trips of Russians to the DPRK have been organized since February this year. The RUTI noted that they proved to be in demand. Tourists come from Yakutia, Sakhalin, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Perm, Ryazan, Novosibirsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions of the country.
In February, the first group of 100 Russian tourists in four years visited the North Korean ski resort Masikren. Two more such trips took place in March. Russian tour operators expect that the geography of tourism in the DPRK will expand, among other things, due to high demand.
The report notes that the North Korean partners take into account the comments and wishes of Russian tour operators based on the results of group trips.
Tours to Pyongyang will start from Vladivostok. The RUTI noted that the package includes flight, hotel accommodation, guide-interpreter services, entrance tickets to museums according to the program, transport services, three meals a day and accident insurance.
