Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov and Uzbek Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov signed a joint action plan to expand cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism until 2026. This was reported on its website by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
"We forecast that the implementation of the planned measures will allow by 2027 to increase the mutual tourist flow by another 40%, bringing the number of trips to the 2 million mark per year. We will strive for these indicators by consolidating marketing efforts, developing new tourist routes and solving the payment problem," Reshetnikov's words are quoted in the message.
The measures of this roadmap, the minister noted, will create conditions for attracting mutual investors and will help develop cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries.
The document was signed in Tashkent during a meeting of the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Shavkat Mirziyeev, "on the sidelines" of a meeting of the Council of Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan.
The roadmap includes 12 blocks of measures aimed at strengthening interstate interaction and cooperation between the tourism business.
"The parties will discuss the practical implementation of the roadmap in June, during the second meeting of the Russian-Uzbek Subcommittee on Tourism, scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the Russian Travel Forum "Travel!" in Moscow," the ministry said.
