The press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia reported that to date, the reforestation plan in the regions of the country has been completed by 87%. In particular, the work is fully completed in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kursk, Lipetsk, Orel, Smolensk, Tambov, Tver, Astrakhan, Rostov, Penza, Saratov, Ulyanovsk, Novosibirsk, Omsk regions, the Republics of Ingushetia, Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Tyva, Sakha (Yakutia), Chechen Republic, Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs, Stavropol, Perm, Altai and Kamchatka Territories.
"Afforestation was carried out on 4.6 thousand hectares, this is 102% of the planned amount of work. The total area of reforestation and afforestation in Russia by the end of 2023 will be brought to 1.4 million hectares, which is 6.7% more than last year," the report says.
The press service noted that climatic conditions allow reforestation to continue in the southern regions. Thus, the entire planned amount of work will be completed by the end of the year.
